LOCATION: 400 Harmony Road, Crystal Springs, MS 39059

GENERAL DESCIPTION OF POSITION:

This is skilled, non-professional supervisory work performed under the general direction of the center manager. Job functions involve preparing a variety of meals, snacks and bottles according to CACFP (Childcare and Adult Food Program) meal pattern guidelines.

Maintain appropriate records; order, receive, store and secure food and kitchen supplies.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Assemble food, dishes, utensils and supplies needed for timely meal preparation.

2. Prepare high quality nutritional food using standardized recipes.

3. Clean and sanitize infants, bottles and accessories.

4. Prepare infant formula according to instructions and clients’ needs as necessary.

5. Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures as prescribed; ensure that food temperatures are hot   or cold as appropriate and that all kitchen areas are well cleaned and sanitized so that health standards are maintained.

6. Wash dishes, pots, pans and utensils following approved sanitation methods.

7. Complete routine kitchen and equipment including weekly deep cleaning.

8. Order food and supplies as scheduled.

9. Receive orders from vendors, insuring that proper items have been delivered.

10. Take food inventory monthly per established procedures.

11. Obtain a meal count after each meal and complete the CACFP 42 form daily.

12. Maintain an up to date Menu Production Record Book, posting menus at least two weeks in advance.

13. Prepare nutritional education material to present at parent meetings, training and workshop sessions as required.

14. Participate in staff meetings and personal development training sessions.

15. Perform other job related duties as required.

 
Requirements: (Education & Experience): At least a High School Diploma or equivalent in addition to training courses related to food preparation with at least one year of experience in preparation of large volumes of food according to a planned menu. Certification in Food Service is required. Must meet minimal physical and medical standards; must have approved State and Federal childcare background clearance.
